What is the Childhood Stroke Project?

The Childhood Stroke Project will deliver new information resources to support survivors of childhood stroke, their families, carers and friends. This could include videos, podcasts, guides, checklists, planners and learning modules.

The Childhood Stroke Project will build on previous Stroke Foundation work such as Our Family’s Stroke Journey.

We want to ensure families of children with stroke have what they need to manage their family’s health and wellbeing, and to achieve the best possible recovery for their child.

How will we work together?

The Childhood Stroke Lived Experience Advisory Group is a group made up of survivors of childhood stroke, family members and carers. This group, along with the Stroke Foundation project team, will help plan the project, keep it on track, and deliver new resources and childhood stroke activities. We also want the broader childhood stroke community to be involved.

Impacto Consulting, a social impact firm specialising in codesign facilitated a series of workshops in 2022. In these workshops, the Childhood Stroke Lived Experience Advisory Group developed a project vision, mission and set of objectives. From this, a codesigned project plan was developed. Results from a community survey informed initiatives and priorities.  Read the Childhood Stroke Project Report
