Research

The National Stroke Foundation supports Research in two different ways:

The Foundation is committed to funding high quality research and supporting innovative stroke research to improve stroke prevention and management. The Research Advisory Committee has developed a Research Strategy which addresses gaps in both knowledge and evidence in stroke care to build capacity among stroke researchers in Australia.

The Foundation is also committed to supporting the latest evidence-based stroke prevention and treatment. We use the latest research as a basis for all the programs we develop and run. To support health professionals the Foundation summarises and publishes the best research through the Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Managment 2010. We use the research summary from the guidelines to make sure all our consumer information is evidence-based.
