Why our President Professor Richard G. Larkins AO has left a bequest in his Will

I know firsthand the overwhelming impact stroke can have on a family. My father died from a stroke at the age of 37.

As a person directly affected by this devastating disease, as a physician and as President of the National Stroke Foundation, I have come to know the importance of combating Australia’s second biggest killer and a leading cause of disability in our community.

A bequest in your Will can be a lasting reflection of your life and beliefs and a legacy you can leave to benefit future generations.

Much progress has been made in reducing the burden of stroke in the years since my father was struck down at an early age but much more work is needed to reduce the suffering it inflicts on family and friends every year.

That is why I have decided to leave a bequest to the National Stroke Foundation in my Will. I want to make sure the Foundation continues its important work so my children and their children after them can lead happy and healthier lives where the risk of stroke is reduced.

Please join me in supporting the Stroke Foundation by putting aside a gift in your Will today so that future generations will continue to benefit from its work and your legacy.
